Boden’s clothing is solely designed in London, but it has factories in many countries including Portugal, Romania, China, and Hungary. Boden began as a mail-order business when British founder Johnnie Boden sketched some men’s designs in 1991. It eventually expanded to carry women’s clothing in 1992 and children’s clothing a few years later in 1996. The UK website opened in 1999 and the first US website opened in 2002. Boden started selling the Johnnie B line for teens in 2007 and has added maternity clothing, petite wear, and newborn and toddler wear as well. New clothing collections come out every spring and fall, and it has plans to open physical stores in the future.
